About OLLI
Mission
In July 2006, the San Francisco-based Bernard Osher Foundation selected University Center as a site for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. The Foundation supports a wide variety of educational and community projects. Its goal is to establish at least one Lifelong Learning Institute in every state, each one affiliated with an institution of higher learning. Currently there are more than 120 OLLIs in the United States.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University Center (OLLI) is a non-profit organization that brings together people who wish to learn for the simple joy of it - with no pressure, no grades and no tests!
A wide variety of short term, non-credit classes are geared toward people age 50 and up, but there is no age or educational requirement to join.
OLLI exemplifies the University Center's commitment to community service through its collaborative work with the partner institutions, academic and professional groups, and organizations devoted to engaging the minds and fostering the well-being of adults.
